My Secret Illness

We're so glad that we can share this video with you and wanted to say a huge thank you for all the messages, tweets and comments that everybody has sent. Nic has a treatment plan in place and has been successfully following this for a number of years now. She hasn't gone into the details of this simply because what works for one may not work for another and she believes everybody should follow the advice and treatment which works individually for them.
We hope this video will help to raise awareness and help people to connect and find support in each other.

  5. My Dear Nic, I have a sister who is 71 and in the later stages of MS. She never gave up. She did what she had to do for her. She was diagnosed at 42 and it was found that she showed signs at 12. You are doing brilliantly by just continuing to live your life for you. Never let the MS define who you are or what you do. Stay strong, keep smiling and keep pushing through the barriers. Your are beautiful.

  13. Thank you so much for sharing Nic. As someone living with a terminal illness who has also made massive life changes and yet am getting on with life, I recognise much of what you are a saying; how emotions come to fore when talking with others about the condition we live with even when we have processed it well. I'm also a psychologist and love that while you are living with MS and respecting it, it is no way defining you and may make up only a small aspect of your identity. You mentioned in your video at one stage 'am an MS person' and 'not knowing how to say it'- you can say it any way that works for you! I find it helpful to say I am 'living with' as it helps remind me and others that my illness is not me, it's something I manage. Your resilience and love for your family are obvious and I'm glad you have these. Thank you again for sharing.

  16. Big hugs for being brave and showing your vaunrible and extremely personal side. I also suffer from an invisible illness, which in one way is great as still look normal from the outside and also a curse as makes it extremely hard for others to understand. But when I have a flearup or relapes makes it all the more harder to deal with. Big hugs and I'm super proud of you for choosing to share this xx

My wonderful sis thinks that MS has been the making of her... like you she has achieved so much already. She is super healthy - vegan diet and yoga daily... she swears by! We are going to her wedding next week can't wait! Many blessings and love to you X
