Clarins Mineral Eye Makeup Palette

New launch for October from Clarins consists of ten wet and dry eye shadows and a duo ended application brush. Looks very similar to the Urban Decay palette.
The eye shadows are a mix of matte, satin and pearl finishes in a harmonious blend from warm apricot through to cool grey.
We really like the compact which they come in. It's a lightweight plastic, flip lid palette which makes it really easy and light to carry around. The only negative is that the packaging has a really strong plastic smell to it.

The colours have really nice tones to them but unfortunately we felt that they colour payoff wasn't consistent for every colour. The pearl and satin finish colours performed well and after a little bit of building up had a good pay off. The matte colours were a little patchy, crumbly and took a bit more effort to build. The lightest colour in particular was quite hard to blend because of the patchy finish and the colour payoff was not up to Clarins normal standard.
Once on and built up though these did last well on the skin and with the exception of the lightest shade, they blended easily.
If you are someone who likes to build and blend your shadow then this will work for you. If you prefer an easy to use shadow which will give you a block of colour in one wash over of a brush then these are not for you.

All the colours blend really well with each and you could wear a combination of any of them and it would work easily.
A nice Autumnal selection with a pop of gold to take it into the evening.

This palette is available now and is £35.00 from http://www.clarins.co.uk

  10. My friend used the copper shade and her eye swelled up so badly she needed anti-biotics. Think I'll be sticking with the Naked Palettes.
