Paul Yacomine Micro Colour collection

We love this capsule collection of treatment serums for the hair. An absolute godsend for travelling or when on holiday.
The tub contains three micro serums each in a 15ml bottle with pump action dispenser.

  • The blue micro treatment serum is kind of similar to your traditional serum. It will smooth down a frizzy texture and condition the ends to avoid dryness. This particular serum is great for holidays because it contains a sunscreen and helps protect hair from chlorine. A must for all colour treated hair to avoid dulling of your highlighted hair. Packed with essential oils of rose, geranium and jojoba and a sunscreen of orange and geranium this smells amazing. I can smell the essential oils on my hair all day. This is also a great heat protection for styled hair.
  • The white bottle is microfinish in ultra light and is good for adding shine back into dry or dull hair. I like to use this after I have dried my hair so I can add a little shine. You only need around three drops of this oil (more if your hair is particularly dry). Gives a natural sheen without looking greasy. The dispenser allows product to come out very slowly which albeit a little annoying but better in the long run so you don't get too much product.
  • Micro colour care in the red bottle is for hair that has been coloured over again and has a frazzled, dry texture. This serum contains essential oils of rose, rosemary, almond oil and keratin and silk proteins. It helps to remove colour debris from clogged porous hair. Use this after initial colouring or whenever your colour needs a pick me up.
Paul Yacomine has tons of other products in the line up depending on your hair needs. He also has specialist shampoo and conditioners to help with problematic hair.

The micro collection above is £25.00 but each of these oils are available on their own if you're not sure you require all three!

Daniel Sandler Toffee and Caramel lip collection

The new lip collection from Daniel Sandler takes us back to one of our most favourite iconic eras....the 90's supermodels.

Carla Bruni, Linda Evangelista, Karen Mulder with Gianni Versace

Nude lips have never really gone out of fashion since and it's a look that anybody can wear with confidence day or night. Effortless during the day with a slick of mascara or teamed up with a smouldering smokey eye for the evening.

The two new lipsticks (£13.25) in this launch are a matte finish but without the drying texture matte lipsticks can sometimes have. The texture feels creamy on the lips and both shades have a rich pigment payoff.

The lightest of the two shades called Audrey is a warm honey caramel whilst the darker shade Vintage rose has a slightly more terracotta rose pigment.

If you prefer to go for a gloss finish the two glosses are of similar tones to the lipsticks but with a mirror shine.

Suede is a semi opaque peach nude and truffle is a slightly shimmery bronze. These are £14.75 each.
We think these glosses smell like retro sweets cola cubes, delicious!
Key ingredients include Sodium Hyaluronic to attract moisture to the lip, Squalene and Vitamin E  help protect and condition lips.

This collection is available now from http://www.danielsandler.com

Laura Mercier Sensual Reflections

Launching this August is the Laura Mercier latest colour story Sensual Reflection.
What you would expect for autumn with a rich colour palette of shimmering golds, forest green and russet.

The collections centre piece is the cheek compact called sensual reflections which is £31.00

A shimmering mixture of peach, champagne and silver pressed powder. Don't be scared of the silver  tone in the centre because it doesn't really have much colour payoff so doesn't give you a metallic silver finish. Can be used on a fair skin as a radiant blusher but due to the high reflective finish it's best used on the high points of the face as a highlighter.

The more I buffed this highlighter the more radiant it seemed to get. I found you did have to really layer it to get a good amount of colour.

For the eye shadows we have two of the four shades available (£19.00) and were really impressed with the texture and colour. These feel so soft you could mistake them for creams. The finish is a reflective satin finish not dissimilar to the finish of silk. Together these two will make the ultimate sultry, autumnal smokey eye.

The shade in gold seduction is a beautiful antique gold. Beautiful when swept across the lid or a stunning highlighter under the brow on a deeper skin tone.

Gold Seduction

The other shade we have is called Plum allure and will be my staple eyeshadow colour for the season. It has the perfect balance of plum brown shot with an undertone of red and gold. Would look amazing on all eye colours and has such a strong colour payoff which blends like a dream. We have a lot of love for this shade!

Plum Allure

How divine do these look together!?

As Nic currently has blue hair she has been loving using coloured eyeliners to add a pop of colour. This collection has a limited edition gel liner in a forest green called Envy (£19.00). As with all Laura Mercier gel liners the texture is creamy and the colour lays down with ease.

The lip products which we saw are definitely a personal preference and may not be for everyone.
The lipstick in cocoa (£21.00) which is a repromote is rich and full bodied with a moisturised satin finish. The gloss in desire (£19.50) is actually much sheerer than the container may suggest. It has a transparent finish but tinted with a plum tone flecked with fine purple and pink glitter pigments.

This collection is limited edition and available from August 2014.

Jo Malone A Frosted Fantasy

I popped over to London this week on possibly one of the hottest days of the year. Emerging from the stifling hot underground it was an absolute joy to then be immersed into the icy cold world of Jo Malone's Christmas collection.

The Jo Malone Townhouse had been transformed into a frosted fantasy to get us out of summer mode and plunged into the depths of winter.

Being handed this cherry based cocktail on arrival was just what I needed!!

In addition to their previous Christmas scent of pine and eucalyptus which makes another comeback they have also launched this seasons frosted cherry and clove scent.
The cherry red glass to this candle is etched with a frosted design. Fresh but with that distinctive warmth of clove this will make any house smell distinctively festive.

As always Jo Malone has pulled out all the stops to give you decadent, luxurious options for gifts this Christmas.
Sets containing five mixed 9ml colognes and cologne intense, peony and blush and pomegranate noir collections and a pine and eucalyptus collection each boxed beautifully with a cherry red ribbon make ideal gifts.

I'm obsessed with Christmas decorations and spend hours buying my tree decorations. If you are also guilty of this then check out the scented baubles. Yes they are £32 each but are so beautiful. You can choose from pine and eucalyptus or frosted cherry and clove.

After viewing all these delights there was an option for ice skating. I declined...I value my ankles too much but with lots of dashing velvet clad male models on hand during the event it was almost worth the injury!

This collection is available from 1st November 2014 both in store and online www.jomalone.com

Clinique Chubby stick cheeks and Baby tints

Continuing their rein of Queen of chubbiness Clinique have launched their new cheek chubby sticks and baby tints for the lips.

Cheek tints are available in four shades each with about an inch of twist up product to use.

The four colours are...
Roly poly rosy a warm pink rose shade, Am'd up apple a nude/beige pink, Robust rhubarb a pink/coral with fine gold fleck and Plumped up peony a plum/rose.

The application tip is softly rounded to enable colour to be applied with precision to the apples of the cheeks. The product feels creamy but not greasy and blends easily. None of the colours contain glitter or shimmer but more of a natural satin finish. Colours have a good amount of pigment and can be built for a more intensive colour pop or if your skin tone is darker and needs a stronger pay off.
After a few hours colour does start to fade (as with most creams) however it fades softly with no patchiness or dryness.
They contain vitamin E to keep the skin conditioned and are water, sweat and humidity resistant making them the perfect choice for holidays and summer makeup.

Easy to transport around in your bag and convenient to apply on the go without getting sticky fingers.
Each chubby stick for the cheek is £19.00

The chubby stick baby tint are available again in four shades and although they are slightly tinted with colour they work on the natural oils in your lips making each colour as individual as you are!
The colour of the packaging will give you a hint to what shade the colour will go towards but will develop differently to work with your natural lip tones.

As the name suggests these will only give you a very sheer colour. The texture is subtly creamy without feeling glossy. They give the impression that you have naturally moisturised lips. Packed full of vitamin C, Shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil to leave the lips soft and supple. When you initially put these on you'll think there is no colour at all but after around 30 seconds the colour starts to develop.
 These are £17.00 each.

Both sets of products are available from www.clinique.co.uk now and available in stores from 1st August 2014.

Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick

Multiple use products are always a hit for summer. Charlotte Tilbury has made it a little easier to achieve a natural pop of colour to the lips or cheeks using her Beach Stick. Available in five colours (we had four shades to show you, the missing shade is called Ibiza) these blendable cream colours come in a chic twist up rose gold container that won't take up all the space in your makeup bag.
The beach stick has just the right balance of moisture to allow a cheek colour that won't slide off and feel greasy but which will still sit on the lips comfortably without drying.

You need to work the product by building layers to achieve a bolder colour payoff. Once on these colours seem to have a slight staining finish which is great for colour longevity.
With the exception of the colour called Formentera each one has a fine gold glitter pigment shot through it.

The shades below are the colours without blending.

Below are the shades after blending.

Apply to the apples of the cheek, across the nose and forehead where the sun would catch and slick over the lips.
Charlotte mentions that she uses the various colours on the following gorgeous women...
Ibiza-Giselle
Formentera-Kate Moss
Moon Beach-Jennifer Lopez
Las Salinas-Cara Delevigne
Es Vedera-Rhianna

Each stick is £30.00 and available from http://www.charlottetilbury.com

Eve Lom Morning time cleanser

I have been using this cleanser every morning for the last three months (it's still got loads left) and have loved it so much.
As you may know if you follow our blog and tutorials we love balm cleansers. They get all the makeup products and dirt off in one cleanse whilst nourishing the skin and not stripping it of it's oils.
Balm cleansers are then easily removed with a muslin cloth or flannel but this balm cleanser is a little different.
The clue is in the name really...Morning time cleanser.
In the evening I tend to slather on the products. It doesn't matter if my skin feels greasy as I'm off to bed anyway. In the mornings though I want to be able to wash my face and not feel like there is any residue left on my skin. This cleanser does exactly that. The balm feels so lightweight that you can rinse it off just like a wash off cleanser and don't even need to wipe over with a flannel or cloth. This is so handy because whenever I am away from home I hate carrying a flannel in my wash bag. Once they have been used they stay damp and make everything else in your case damp until you get home!
Use it straight onto dry skin, massage in all over even the eye lids and then rinse away. I also love the smell of this which may be an acquired taste. It contains clove oil. This is that kind of throat sweet smell but it is so fresh and soothing although a little medicinal smelling. Clove oil is in throat sweets to calm and reduce infection..it does the same in this cleanser making it a great choice for a problematic or sensitive skin. Eucalyptus acts as an antibacterial agent and papaya extract helps to brighten through gentle exfoliation. You can feel no exfoliation grit in this though, just pure balm gorgeousness.
Great for all skins but particularly beneficial to a combination, oily or problematic skin type.
It's not cheap at £40.00 for 125ml but like I mentioned, I have had it three months and have used it every morning with no end in sight!

Victoria Green Beauty Bags

With holiday and festival season in full flow we need these bags from Victoria Green in our life!
Victoria Green is a British textile designer who has designed for brands such as The white company, Marks and Spencer and Laura Ashley.

Her collection is available from Debenhams now just in time to pack your essentials.

My personal favourite is the Daisy print hanging bag. It is made from a PVC outer covering which is wipe clean and shower proof. The inside is 100% polyester.
The case has a carry handle and wrap around zip.

Inside it has two large zip compartments which can fit even chunky shampoo bottles inside. There is a smaller flatter compartment which would be perfect for liner pencils, mascara etc.

The case has a hanging hook so you can hang in up in the shower or in your tent so you may easily get your products. You can of course hang it on your bathroom door at home to keep your bathroom clutter free.
The PVC ensures all of your products stay dry. This bag is £14.00

If you need to carry a little bit more then check out the canvas spot carry all. Large zip compartment with spot design interior will hold tons of products. On the exterior there are two compartments which can be closed with a Velcro cover.

You can store products in here which you need to grab more easily. This larger style carry all is £18.00.

Check out other pieces in the range here also http://tidd.ly/a6e35c65
Where will you be taking yours this summer?

This Works In transit camera close up

We first noticed this product whilst stalking Victoria Beckham on Twitter. She was raving about it and we thought if we get it then maybe we can bag a husband like hers too? That's how it works isn't it?
Well David Beckham still hasn't called yet but we are however loving this product none the less.

So at first we were like so it does what?  It moisturises is a mask and primes! How is that possible.
Lets deal with each factor separately...
  • Moisturises
It's top ingredients are water, Shea butter and coconut oil (they have fancy names on the box but that's what they are). Shea butter is normally a no no for me (this is Stacey) as I have found it is too rich for my oily skin and often breaks me out. So far though I haven't had any crazy breakouts and it totally doesn't feel like the greasy texture that you may think it would containing these ingredients. It absorbs super quickly that I even felt like I needed to put more on because it had sunk in before I had chance to massage it around my face. This makes it perfect for all skin types although dryer skins may need to apply more liberally.

  • Mask
Not really a mask in the traditional sense. It doesn't feel like a film and it doesn't leave you greasy or shiny. I think because it contains some seriously soothing ingredients such as aloe, argan and eyebright (reduces swelling) it has a calming influence on a stressed skin. It also has good old hyaluronic acid inside also helping to plump and draw moisture to the skin's surface.

  • Primer
It has an ingredient in it called gigawhite which helps to brighten skin and reduce pigmentation. It also contains caffeine to stimulate and pep up the skin.
If you use this product not for the previous two reasons then definitely use it for it's priming abilities. It makes an awesome base before makeup. On myself and on shoots when the model has an oily/combination skin there is nothing worse than applying a greasy moisturiser or primer and then applying foundation on top. If the moisturiser is too oily it breaks the foundation up and makes your powder and blusher go patchy.
Usually I moisturise and then go and make a cup of tea while it sinks in before I apply foundation. With this I could apply and go straight in with my base makeup. It also kept my skin shine free and helped everything to stay in place at least until about 3pm when I touched up.
It makes your face look like you have a pair of 3 denier tights over it! Even, soft and smooth.
I think I remember reading that Victoria Beckham has an oily skin so I'm assuming this is also why she loved it so much.
It does also work on a dry skin but you may need to build it a little more.

Great holiday take away product because of the three in one abilities but also nice to keep for the evening when you need to keep your makeup in place.

A 40ml tube is £30.00 and available on the following link..http://goo.gl/oTovMI

Illamasqua Glamore Nude

I thought I had a box of chocolates when I saw this little box on my desk this morning.

It wasn't but my disappointment subsided when I saw it was something even better...a box of new nude lipsticks from Illamasqua.

The iconic nude lip we think was born from looking at images of the original 90's supermodels. Think Cindy, Christy, Naomi and Linda and also a favourite look of Nicola's.

From July 10th (online) and July 31st (in store) Illamasqua are launching this range of seven nude lipsticks. Each lipstick is £18.50.
The seven lipsticks are broken down into three categories of nude..nude coral, rosy and earthy rose.
The shades have something for every skin tone as the tones are a mixture of warm and cool nudes.

We had a look at four of the shades available.

From L-R Tease, Naked, Starkers, Rosepout

The colours are an opaque finish with a rich pigment. Moisturising and rich but without too much shine. They have a slight satin finish but no shimmer/glitter whatsoever. I would suggest using a lip liner with these shades to ensure you have a neater defined edge. Make sure your lip liner blends though, nothing worse than a dark lipliner and a nude lipstick!

Illamasqua head of training Daniel Busutti recommends that the best way to find your perfect nude tone is to match your lipstick to your natural nail bed colour. What a great tip!

These nudes will see you through summer into autumn for a natural day look or team it up with an intense smoky eye for the evening.
