Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder

We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Estee Lauder's new autumn collection Vivid Shine designed by Tom Pecheux, Creative Director for Estee Lauder.

It's always nice to get a little bit of background information about the artist behind the work.
French make up artist Tom Pecheux began his career 30 years ago when he assisted another well established make up artist Linda Cantello. He then went on to work with some of the best photographers in the industry including Mario Testino and Patrick Demarchelier.
His philosophy is that make-up should flatter rather than conceal and his work has a trademark sexy, chic finish.
He has keyed shows for Gucci, Missoni, Derek Lam, Marni, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Yves Saint Laurent to name a few.
I've been lucky enough to work as part of Tom's team a few times backstage in Milan and he is utterly inspiring to watch as well as fun to be around.

In November he was given the title of Creative Makeup Director for Lauder and his autumn collection hits the shelves this August.

This collection is sultry with a metallic edge and all the colours incorporated are exactly what you could expect to see in a fall collection, plums, rusts and poppy reds with splashes of teal and pistachio green.

Consisting of 6 limited edition vivid shine shadows which have a metallic pearl glowing finish. Alongside this there are 10 cyber metallic eyeshadows which have an intense vibrant finish with a beautiful lattice pattern running through them.

The lip range is pretty extensive with colours ranging from soft coral to deep plum red. Each shade contains silver and gold pearl sparkle which gives a sequin like shine on the lips.
The nail polish colours consist of a purple, deep coral red and a black/turquoise.

Not all of us would want to wear such dark colours on lips and eyes at the same time but there are key colours that you can adapt into your normal routine to adapt your make up look this autumn.

Available from Estee Luder counters nationwide and at www.esteelauder.co.uk from August 2012

  6. This collection is out in the States already and it is so amazing! I love the eyeshadows. You can get two totally different colours with just one shadow. If you love intense colour use them wet.

  7. I've found the eyeshadows to be easily fading without primer.
