This is the image I used as inspiration for my most recent tutorial. Although I kept the eyes softer with less mascara and used nothing at all on the cheeks.
The photographer was Emma Tempest and we shot this a few years ago on a cold day in a cold warehouse in Loughborough Junction.
Just as in my tutorial, I used Dusk and Pearl Creme Colour Base from MAC on the models eyes.
I love working with the CCB, I find them very versatile. They can be used as eyeshadows, shadow bases, highlighters, contours, cheek tints, foundation mixers, lip stains...the list is quite endless.
This looks so beautiful, your skin looks flawless as always :)

Did you use glitter on the model? I think I see something pretty and shiny at her inner corners (love the look with a ridiculous amount of mascara)
ReplyDelete*sigh* those perfect brows...
ReplyDeletei think this is a very cool look, and you sam looking good always :D

That portfolio picture is really great and the video was very helpful to me that is a makeup student :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering, does the model have something else on the lips that is not mentioned in your video? Her lips looks so sparkly :)
I think I remember mixing the lip colour from the MUFE Flash Palette. There may have been a touch of gloss over the top but it is unlikely.
ReplyDeleteSomeone also asked if there was glitter on the eyes and there wasn't. That is Pearl CCB picking up but the photographic lights.... as I said they photograph beautifully.

Hello =)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking about tutorials and inspiration, i wonder if you ever come across some pictures of Mina, she was a TV star in italy during the '60s and '70s aproximately. She had the strongest signature look ever, incredibly contoured cheeks, no eyebrows and the most intense eyeshadow. it's like a very extreme '60s look, i quite like it and wanted to show it to you =)
some pics:

She also is one of the best italian voices ever, so i'm leaving a video as well =)

hope you like this.. and keep up the terrific work, you girls are the best on youtube! <3
...girls..something nice to replace dusk with? I'd die for the same finish too but i assume only ccbs can give that.. Any advice of a possible dupe? Thank you so much for the great inspiration and the help too! ^^
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adore this look... I have a lipstick by Revlon called, I think, Black Cherry that is a dead ringer for the one you have on. It's such a cool color. Will have to orchestrate some sort of dinner party or do for an excuse to do this!
