Just thought I would share with you two of our favourite, and probably our most reached for, make-up removers, and indeed potentially two of the most reached for in the make-up/model industry. You may have heard us talk about these before in tutorials, but I thought I would share the love of Bioderma and Embryolisse on the blog. They both have incredibly gentle, no-rinse formulas, almost to the point where you feel like you are only putting water on your face, but they are absolutely so efficient and brilliant and work amazingly at getting off every last bit of make-up from your skin without it feeling at all irritated or distressed. It takes minimal effort - the make-up just glides off on to the cotton pad - but with instant results. What I ultimately love about these two products is that they are careful, soothing and simple, you might wonder how something so neutral could work so well yet I don't think there are better products than this, they are perfect on the face and on eyes and are for all skin types. Totally trustworthy.
They are brilliant for being used over and over, for example if you wore different make up looks in one day or decided you didn't like something and wanted to take it off then they show no signs of redness and restore the skin back to how it was originally so you can apply the make-up from exactly the same starting point.
The only problem with these is that they are not available as widely in the U.K as they are in other counties. We get ours from Guru Makeup Emporium which is in Fulham, London. You can also buy online from them with an additional delivery charge from http://www.gurumakeupemporium.com/. See the Embryolisse remover here and the Bioderma one here
Do you guys use either of these two? I change between them both depending on what's in grabbing distance. Two highly effective, gentle and harmless removers. I love them both.
I've wanted to try Bioderma ever since I saw you sisters using it in your videos :).
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the chance to try Bioderma yet, but there's a Canadian brand called Marcelle that makes a product called Soothing Cleansing Water that works in the same way as these 2 products and I love it!
I LOVE Bioderma , I no longer buy a separate eye makeup remover since I started using this, It lasts for ages and I usually end up paying £15-£20 a bottle depending where I get it from but it's worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteOh I just did a post on Bioderma the other week! And a sort of dupe product. I love it! Havent tried the Embryolisse... yet ! xx
ReplyDeleteI love the Bioderma, just got my 2 bottle (bought it through e-bay).
ReplyDeleteI tried it after seeing you girls recommend it and it really is great, so thank you :)
I will definitely try these! Removing my makeup can be a hassle sometimes :/

I just recently got the Bioderma and I love it!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI found out yesterday that my local drugstore has a very well-known one. I'm buying it today to try it out! Thanks for the post: very interesting as always :)
ReplyDeleteThe Bioderma one is amazing indeed. Found out about it through lisa eldridge on youtube. As I don't wear makeup I cannot comment on that aspect. But it's also great for regular cleansing, removing bits of facial masks (clay & such), as a toner, a quick refresher during the day, ..
ReplyDeleteSo many uses and it doesn't dry out or irritate one bit. Simply amazing :)
I've had a really good experience with the Vichy Purete Thermale Cleansing Micellar Lotion which you can get in Boots. I can only get Bioderma (which I love!) when my husband goes to Europe on business AND when he takes check in luggage rather than just carry on, but the Vichy is definitely one that ranks highly!
ReplyDeleteI use Bioderma in green (for oily skin). Very efficient!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try the Bioderma one x
ReplyDeleteZuneta sell it now too, although they're out of stock at the moment :) http://www.zuneta.com/?gclid=CNqhx-PrmqwCFRRc4Qod12tjNw
ReplyDeleteI've never used either of them, but they sound fab!

I haved used Bioderma for 6 years! Or Shu Uemura oil but then I still remove the eye makeup with the Bioderma.
ReplyDeleteYes they're both amazing!! Love them too. I also like one of Dermalogica, gel-like.

I am so looking forward to use Bioderma but it´s kind of hard to find it in Spain, take care
ReplyDeleteHow funny, I just tried out a sample of Bioderma yesterday and I was hooked! Now here I am reading about it on your blog, haha.
ReplyDeleteI've just put a Bioderma review on my blog! I LOVE it- it feels so natural and lovely on my skin and removes every bit of make-up. Brilliant. Agree that it's a shame it's so hard to get hold of in the UK! x
ReplyDeleteI'm totally hooked on the Bioderma and have been for quite a while, you can see it here:
ReplyDeletehttp://nomadic-d.blogspot.com/2011/05/sensational-sensibio.html
I actually use it not just as makeup remover but in place of a regular cleanser. I love the stuff!

I am using Avene lotion micellaire, it's the same as Bioderma, but smaller bottle. Haven't tried Embryolisse yet as it's hard to get it in Norway.
ReplyDeleteI have used bioderma creams and tonics but I didn't like them. I have still to try embryolisse
ReplyDeleteI have not tried this product before but think I have seen Embryolisse or at least their lotions/moisturizers-at either CVS/Walgreens/Duane Reade-I forget which one-here in the USA.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I read at a random blog that Bioderma is available at Ricky's and a few other boutique cosmetics places (London Boutique, NYC Boutique, not sure about Zitomers). If anyone knows of other places, let me know!
Thanks to those who posted their own reviews of Bioderma as I would like to try it out! Thanks!
Loving Bioderma and when I can't get it then Avene Micellar lotion. I have highly intolerant dry skin (especially in the winter) and Bioderma really doesn't irritate it. Another staple from Bioderma is the Sensibio mask for sensitive intolerant skin. No irritation!
ReplyDeleteThe bioderm seems pretty good, ive heard about it before. Must try it out!

Great post thankyou for telling us all where you can purchase them too :D
ReplyDeletesal xx
I use bioderma too! I bought it in the summer on a trip to paris after hearing tons of great things about it. Luckily I decided to buy a 2-pack, the first bottle lasted me about 3 months, even using it everyday and sometimes multiple times a day. Will definately be buying it again, another reason to go back to paris!
ReplyDeleteHi, in France, where I'm from, Bioderma is a classic, not really a fashion industry product. Every drugstore has it and it's the cheapest product ever. It's a beauty "secret" (well, not really) I got from my mom more than 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteEmbryolisse makes amazing moisturizers as well : check the classic "lait-crème concentré" or a lighter version with orange peel.
French pharmacy classics include a very popular body moisturizer as well: Topicrem. Just as the others, it's cheap and amazing quality, especially for sensitive skins.
My 2 cents to promote love across the pond !
i'm using the Bioderma one and totally loving it because it is so gentle on the skin
ReplyDeleteI bought two bottles of Bioderma in France this summer, and I should have gotten more! I find that the price varies among pharmacies there, I got two for twenty euros, not bad. I saw them at 12 euros for one bottle, but also for 20 euros per bottle. I usually find that the pharmacies in city centers are far more expensive than the ones next to those big supermarkets they have in France.
ReplyDeletei've been using bioderma everyday since i was in 8th grade.
ReplyDeleteI really do like it and it's available in every drugstore in france so i don't have to worry about getting it. The only disadvantage i think is the price...
Can't live without Bioderma! Recently I've been testing Plante System micelar solution (big 500 ml bottle) and it's just as good as Bioderma! Not every micelar soultion is as effective as these two.
ReplyDeleteI bought bioderma last year after your recommendation, love it!
ReplyDeletei really want to buy bioderma and next time i am in france i will definitely be picking a few bottles up :D

I love Bioderma too. in my country is also expensive, but in my favourites chemist's we ofen have offer like pay for one, take two, so now I have 2 bottle of Bioderma, and I always remove make-up witk Bioderma, I think OCM is as great as Bioderma, so if you can't buy Bioderma in England it's very good option :)

I use Bioderma for oily skin, simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteHello Pixiwoo,
ReplyDeleteI'm French and I always saw Bioderma in every chemist's without paying attention to it. Then I saw it in a few beauty gurus Youtube channels and I was curious to try it. That is true that is very comfy for the skin but it doesn't work well on my waterproof mascara. I may not use it in a appropriate way because it supposes to work even with waterproof make-up ! Bioderma formula may not work with my japanese mascara... Maybe you can show us how you proceed to remove your make-up with Bioderma.
The Bioderma is fantastic! Looks like water, but is so efficient at removing makeup, it's unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI used to find Bioderma Sensibio in Dubai but surprisingly not in the UK! It was available in Boots last year as a special promo but sadly I can't find it any more :-( ordering online is the only option I guess. I love it, wish it was available at the right price here.
ReplyDeleteI'm using Bioderma's for more than ten months now . It's beyond amazing ..You described everything in your review ..Luv it <3
ReplyDeleteLuv Bioderma sensibio...will never use another make up remover...:)
ReplyDeleteI am using Bioderma and I love it! Here in France, we're lucky to have these two make-up removers. If you ever need some, just let me know - I could supply you with all the stock you need!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am using Bioderma and I am very satisfied. Thanks Goodness it is available here in Czech republic unlike other brands such as NARS, Pixi etc :-/
ReplyDeleteI went on my recent business trip to Ukraine and bought three!! bottles of Bioderma in different pharmacies (apparently each pharmacy has got limited bottles) Love it, love it, love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI find that Bioderma removes mascara better then Embryolisse. But Embryolisse removes make-up better from the face. So I use them both!!!
ReplyDeleteI have just ordered a bottle. Thank you very much for recommending this brand I have to say that I struggled for some time when I first moved to UK - I could not find micellar solutions that are so popular and not too expensive in Poland. Hopefully this is the ONE and I will buy it from ebay rather than carry lots of bottles back from Poland when visiting family. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is fantastic indeed. :) Thanks again for bringing this out to light. ;)
