There are so many brilliant Madonna looks to choose from but the first one that I have chosen to try to recreate is the look from 'Rain'. What interests me about this look is the mix of 1930s and 1990s influences. The eyebrows are high and rounded and the blending through the socket is really defined.
Madonna has very high brows and in all honestly I cannot be sure that her brows we blocked out but I needed to block mine to create space for the higher socket, I hope that it is interesting to anyone studying make-up.
The glue used is available from Guru

It's always interesting to see different trends in makeup and how they are integrated into today's looks. I love that the 2 of you always explain the different influences that you take ideas from, whether it be a decade or iconic movie star or etc.

I love it Sam. I'm a huge Madonna fan. Actually, in 1992/93 she decided to shave her brows, so that might explain :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how the shape of eyebrows have changed during the last decades. They create such different effects in a face. Very interesting post!
ReplyDeletei love this song! its definitely not the first to come to mind when I think of Madonna, but i do really like it ... Another one of her videos that I love her makeup in is "Take a Bow"
ReplyDeleteI had the song stuck in my head all day! :-) But I love it!
ReplyDeleteRelatable Style
I think you and Nic are such talented artists! I loved this tutorial though I would not do this myself. Thank you for explaining how the look is created and also as important why a certain method is used over another.
ReplyDeleteI never paid attention to this Madonna video before, so it's nice to see it again in a different light!
Absolutely fantastic and inspiring!

I would love it if you would follow me back-id appreciate the support!
I really liked the lightning in this video actually! It felt as though I could see all the colors you used much clearer than otherwise. Sometimes in your videos it is hard to see the difference between different browns for example. Loved this one, please keep the lighting! <3
ReplyDeletehi Sam! i love watching your tutorial. anyway i bought your whole range of brushes and was curious to why u do not use ur own brushes only during the tutorial. thanks for sharing!
