Look what landed on the desk at Pixiwoo Towers yesterday, we have the Les Tentation De Chanel 2010 Christmas Collection.
Chanel say it's 'A palette with warm tones, dashed with joyful pink, compliments coppers, and bronzes swept over eyelids. On cheeks, lips and fingertips, the radiance of ultra-feminine fuchsia is a playful weapon of seduction'
We say 'Oh it's another collection of browns'
Then we say 'Oh my god, this palette is divine'
Yes, this is an incredibly wearable collection. Infact I will wear every single item in it but don't be fooled into thinking it's boring.
The Tweed Fuchsia blush is a wonderful amalgam of matte pinks and shimmering gold, which gives a subtle glow to the cheeks but can be applied with more intensity if desired.
The Les 4 Ombres shadow palette is a collaboration of warm iridescent pinks and browns. It follows in the footsteps of the Enigma palette in that the colour payoff is immense. The dark brown (Rouge Noir Cuivré) is an absolute dream to work with. It is the colour of the deepest rich mahogany with shimmer, the colour is so rich that it looks like it would taste nice... does that make sense?
Other products that I love in this collection are the fuchsia nail polish in Pulsion and the fluid iridescent eyeshadow Ombres D'eau in Splash which is another highly pigmented deep and luminous bronze.
Enjoy. Out on counters from 5th November 2010
there is nothing so interesting in my opinion but I love the fact you're showing your products previews.
ReplyDeletewow.. this fucsia blush is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love it, the colours, the whole Chanel thing grabs me..always quality, beautiful colours and exquisitely packaged as always..I am a sucker for quality,,guess where I will be heading in November..SELFRIDGES..
ReplyDeleteBlush. Want. Need.
ReplyDeleteI'd be scared to use it though! It's just so beautiful.
its all gorgeous x the pinks are great. definately getting these xx
ReplyDeletethanks for the swatches :)
ReplyDeletebut personnally i find this brand way too expensive and it's not always worth it
I love the nail polish and the blush!
ReplyDeleteso lovely! thank you for the swatches.
ReplyDeleteI've never considered the Chanel cosmetics because they were so expensive. But since you both just rave about it so much. Have been figuring out how I can eventually afford it!
Which products would you recommend to get first?
Hi irrationalfits,
ReplyDeleteI would recommend starting with a foundation. x
I honestly think that most of the times Chanel makeup isn't exactly worth its price, but your swatches reveal a more interesting pay-off this time.
ReplyDeleteStill, I would prefer to buy these colors from more affordable brands.
i thin theyre too expensive but having said that i would probably think about investing in the quad... x

oh my gosh, im thinking i will have to go for the quad it is lovely...I was gona pick up one of the glosses you reviewed a few days ago but i cant seem to find them online :( i will have to hang on a little longer xx

That patchouli color is very nice ) very wearable!
ReplyDeleteI just bought practically the exact same quad from Avon and tossed it immediately because the quality was awful. That said, I also just bought a lovely set of 10 pink shadows for two euros in a Girona market that is the best eyeshadow I have ever used!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see a tutorial with this set before deciding to splash out.
omg! that blusher is amazing, damn it another thing added to my mental list of things i must have :)
ReplyDeleteThis collection looks to be right up my alley! Can't wait until Novembre!!
ReplyDeleteThank you
So many gorgeous products, will definitely be checking these out in November! xoxo
ReplyDeleteoh my! you girls are to blame for rekindling my chanel obsession! thanks for the swatches I will be trotting down to my chanel counter first thing next month.
ReplyDeleteWANT
ReplyDeleteI used to work at a Benefit counter, then Lancome.. but I would spend a good amount of time drooling over the chanel lip glosses, nail polishes and foundations. I've yet to see a comparable brand for really complex lip gloss colors.
I think Chanel is worth every penny. this collection is gorgeous, can't wait to see it for real. I am surprised by the pink nail polish though, it's not very autumnal, but still a lovely shade

Beautiful! You know, I've never really used Chanel products, but your blog and tutorials have really inspired me to do so!
ReplyDeleteLadies, I hope you won't mind a little bit of shameless self-promotion, since it kind of promotes you too. On my YouTube channel, I have favorited your mom's videos & also a few of the book trailers I've narrated as a voice-over artist. Check it out when you get a mo!

I am a huge fan of CHANEL's loose poudre universelle, the rouge coco lipsticks and some nail varnishes. Now I have fallen big time for the quad from this collection. I bet the browns will really make my green eyes pop! :D
ReplyDeleteHave you planned - by any chance - to do a video using some of the products above? I'd love to see how they work their magic in motion.
All the best,
kirschvogel
OH..MY...GOD.....it looks gorgeous....
ReplyDeleteI think I need that nail color!
ReplyDeleteThose colors are so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI never see pink as a holiday color but this collection is really pretty. Do you think it would look good on darker skin tones? I have the fall collection, and its just so beautiful on my dark skin, because its so subtle. Is this collection subtle as well?
ReplyDeleteDear Sam, Please please do a look with this collection! It looks so amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove the collection but the pulse nail polish is simply amazing!!! Imagine a winter day, a black coat and this happy note on your fingertips. WOW!

I want that polish so badly, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI adore your arm swatches, they make me chuckle every time. Plus it gives an idea of how products look on the skin :D
ReplyDeleteGirls, you rock !! ;-) But being French, could you just add a little "S" to "tentation" in the title, then it will be perfect ;-))
ReplyDeleteI've always been a Chanel addict, got my first quad at 16, was a truly amazing and so unusual thing, all matte: a pure white, a pure canari yellow, a dark emerald green (very much like Plumage from MAC) and a thing between dark and royal blue. I bet you would have made a fantastic tutorial with this ! I have been buying a new quad once to twice a year ever since. Been disappointed by the colour pay off sometimes. I had the opportunity to swatch this holiday quad already and pictures definetely don't do it justice. It's already on my list with the blush, the nail lacquer, a new rouge Coco. Oh, if you could do a swatch with this sparkling bright pink on your lips, you would be angels ;-)
Thanks for sharing, I love this, and the Chanel ad picture is sooo gorgeous, love it ! Take Care ;-)
I'm normally not a fan of Chanel makeup but the brown eyeshadow on the bottom right of the palette looks very nice and pigmented.
ReplyDeletewow! I am LOVING the blush...can't wait to get my hands on it! :)

Hi Ladies!!!...I just purchased the quad, nail polish in Pulsion, lipstick in Patchouli, pink pulsion glossimer, tweed fuchsia blush... and this collection is absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes Chanel leaves me wanting more but this quad & enigma from the last are so worth the $$ to me. I wear the shade Chestnut in matlumiere (not discontinued in US :( ...) and this collection is neutral but jazzed up with enough pigmentation that its not boring or too A-typically for us darker-skinned beauties!! Oh please do the advert look ;)
ReplyDeleteI love, Love LOVE that nail colour!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the eye shadow quade~
ReplyDeleteCould you please please do the YT tutorial on the promo look? :)
