After all the drama that has surrounded her personal life over recent years, Who would have thought that Britney Spears would be the one to lead by example. Britney has released the pre-photoshopped image from her Candie's photoshoot. Obviously she still looks amazing but it just goes to show how we strive to achieve the unobtainable via deception.
Wow! I applaud her for doing that especially when she comes from an industry that is obsessed with being thin. She's looks better in her before photo. She's looks too fake in the after photo. Hats off to Britney!
Go Britney! She looks better in the first one. I don't mind airbrushing for things exactly like removing bruises, but then you see things like this and realise how eeeeeeeeevil it is!
they've gotten rid of her calf muscles too! i think her body looks better in the first one. i can see the point of getting rid of the bruises but that's a perfectly healthy and shapely body - madness!
She's very brave for doing this. I thought it was appalling how the media followed her every move when she was going through that bad spell and then couldn't be bothered when she got better because she was no longer "interesting" - no wonder celebrities get so messed up! I'm not a fan but she showed courage to claw her way back from the edge.
I saw the pics a couple f hours ago, and mannn she looks amazing without photoshop. For a mother of two that's insane,, i dont have a kid but i still want to look like the unphotoshooped version of her..,damnnnn
Yay!! I'm so happy she's done this! I know they like to photoshop celebs for ads these days.. but if you look just at the before photo, she looks perfectly normal. It just proves there's nothing wrong with her the way she is.
Britney Spears is fierce! I commend her for having the tenacity to come out of it all after what she has gone through publicly. Shame on all who judged her!
I love Britney...Good for her doing this!! She still looks good though!! She's obviously come out of her bad patch stronger and more positive to be able to do this. Go Britney...!!
Personally, I'm not against retouching entirely. I'd rather have images with retouched skin (ie. getting rid of pimples, uneven skintone, etc) but as long as it looks realistic. Pores, peach fuzz, etc. I'm only against it when they alter the model's physical body and features. To me, beauty and fashion images are like fantasies. It just becomes a real problem when people misinterpret these images for reality. The truth is, people bitch a lot. If things are too perfect, they complain its not real. When things aren't perfect, they complain about how ugly and "realistic" something is. I don't think this whole anti-photoshop/pro-wrinkles-and-cellulite trend will last very long. Retouching has always existed, even before computers.
To be fair, the biggest difference on the airbrushed one is the fact that they've made the skin on her legs all one colour. She was slim to begin with.
They changed the line of the bottom of her arm too. Heaven effin' forbid her arms or legs look like she's more than 12. I'm so sick of what the fashion gods say women should look like.
wow! i have a whole new respect for Britney after this. Girls are always looking at people in magazines, wishing they looked like them when in reality they don't even look like that! it's crazy..
I LOVE this! I'm soo happy she did it! Good for her! Love your blog and videos!!! Keep it up! Check out my new fashion blog!!! http://silknsequins.blogspot.com/
Personally, I think Britney looks amazing in the unretouched photo, hats off to her for being brave enough to show it off at a time where everyone's obsessed with being skinnier than skinny.
Some people may just see Britney as a mess but I doubt many of them could walk a day in her life and survive the constant public scrutiny! It's ridiculous that they've slimmed down her photos but I applaud her for putting it out there. PERFECTION is a MYTH! We all need to let it go! http://insidethedressingroom.blogspot.com/
Same I respect Britney for this, I'm glad she did it. Because most teens nowadays believe that you have to look as thin as a stick, etc, etc, so I'm glad a celeb has come out and proved differ! www.beautyaddictioness.wordpress.com
If she kept ker mind together and focused at what she did best she would still be in the spotlight- but for all the right reasons.....I hope she will in the future, because she is truly talented!

ReplyDeleteYes, nobody is perfect!
ReplyDeletePeople talk sh** about her all the time but seriously I would kill for her unretouched body she may be not skiny but she is so toned!
ReplyDeleteI love you BRIT!
Really admire her for doing this. I think if it was my body in the photo though I'd be so tempted to go for the airbrushed one! xx

ReplyDeleteI think it is so great that she has done this...everyone needs to realise just how airbrushing can completely change a photo

ReplyDeleteI love Britney and think it is great she has done this! I also prefer the first picture, as it is much more 'her' and the shape she is known for.

i agree!!! GOOD JOB Britney! Girls need to not put so much pressure on themselves to look a certain way! Stars have flaws too! xo
ReplyDeleteI also see her face a little bit slimer, but she looks amazing, look at that athletic body!

ReplyDeleteAn awesome thing to do. I give Britney props.
ReplyDeleteThat is totally awesome. I am super skinny and yet I think she looks way better in the 1st pic!!!
ReplyDeleteThey changed the line of the bottom of her arm too. Heaven effin' forbid her arms or legs look like she's more than 12. I'm so sick of what the fashion gods say women should look like.
