Only watch this stupid clip if you really have nothing better to do.
Nic and I tried to film a 30 second intro for our website, see the results for yourself.

LFW - Qasimi

This London Fashion Week Nicola was working backstage at Qasimi on a host of Supermodels inc.
Erin O'Connor, Jade Parfit, Jasmin Le Bon, Lily Cole and Jaquetta Wheeler. (pictured)

The look was created by Make-up Artist, good friend and everyones favorite New Yorker Rachel Wood and was inspired by Hollywood glamour. So it was right up Nic's street.

I will update this post with the products Nic used on Jaquetta.

Colour confusion?

Colour mixing can be fascinating, fun or frustrating, depending on your interest, knowledge or experience. We hope this post will be of help and interest to those who wish to expand their knowledge of colour mixing.

I am going to make this as simple as possible and there is an awful lot more to it than this but to keep it brief and basic....colours that are opposite on the colour wheel intensify (complement) each other when placed side by side and neutralise each other when placed on top of one and other.
For example, to intensify blue eyes you should wear orange or colours that have orangey tones, like warm orangey browns. Likewise, if your eyes are green, colours with alot of red (reddish purples) will make your eyes really stand out.
To neutralise redness in the skin some people use green colour correctors.

Allan 'Whitey' Snyder

Whitey Snyder was Marilyn Monroe's makeup artist throughout her career: from her first screen test at Twentieth Century Fox in 1946 to her funeral makeup in 1962. The pair developed a very close working relationship.
Towards the end of her life, Monroe asked Snyder to prepare her face if she were to die before him. This was a promise that he fulfilled, after her death in 1962. Snyder was also a pall-bearer at the funeral.

Nics skincare

ORIGINS Dr Weil Mega-Mushroom range.

What they say:
Do you have skin sensitivity? Extreme dryness? Redness? Hyperpigmentation? Lines? Wrinkles? Puffiness? Are you a flusher-blusher? All of these diverse skin conditions have something in common. Inflammation… what Dr. Weil calls “the fire within.” Sometimes it's barely perceptible, but it's there and he believes it to be a root cause of many seemingly unrelated conditions, including the aging of the skin.

Serum
This serum contains a proprietary blend of some of the most effective natural substances Dr. Weil has discovered to address skin problems. It includes Hypsizygus ulmarius, Cordyceps and Reishi mushrooms, Ginger, Turmeric, Holy Basil, Resveratrol and Argan Nut Oil.

Face Cream
This remarkable face cream with Hypsizygus ulmarius and Chaga mushrooms immediately helps quiet and calm skin. By mirroring the amazing process that sends Narcissus Lily Bulbs into dormancy as a means of “self-protection”, it signals skin to conserve its energy to optimise its defenses against age accelerators. Skin has the ability to maintain a stronger, healthier, more youthful appearance. This patented technology is further supported by Menyanthus and Heather extracts to keep skin firm; Fucoidan from Okinawan seaweed to discourage moisture loss and Vitamins C and E to defend against destructive oxidation.

My skincare.

At the cutting edge of innovation, BIODERMA has pioneered micellar solutions. Specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skins, the Sensibio H2O micelle solution gently cleanses face and eyes. It removes water-resistant make-up.
The micelles contained in its formula effectively micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining the skin’s balance (soap-free, physiological pH).

Lait-Crème Concentrè (24-Hour Miracle Cream) is a rich moisturizing lotion. This specially formulated lotion is quite versatile, throw it in your travel bag when you don't have enough space for numerous products. Our creamy lotion is really three products in one: it cleans, moisturizes, and reduces irritation after shaving. Massage into face and neck and rinse off with warm water to remove dirt and makeup. Apply to damp clean skin to seal in moisture before applying makeup. Smooth over legs after shaving to sooth irritated skin.

Must have books...No.3

Femme Fatale by Serge Normant
Chic, sexy, and sophisticated, Femme Fatale pays tribute to a century of feminine glamour. Invoking not only iconic beauties like Jean Harlow, Brigitte Bardot, and Marilyn Monroe but also the looks that defined each decade from the 1900s to the new millennium, celebrity stylist Serge Normant crafts clothes, setting, hair, and makeup to transform today's most beautiful women. He re-creates Julia Roberts as Louise Brooks, and Cindy Crawford as a forties glamour goddess, a savvy paparazzi-stalked nineties superstar, and a twenties ingenue. Elizabeth Hurley frolics as a flower child and vamps as Mata Hari. Isabella Rossellini is a curvaceous fifties pinup and an eighties punk.

Influences...No.2 David & Terry

David Horne, Creative Director for Jemma Kidd Cosmetics and Academy.
I first met David at MAC when he was Director of Artistry.
He scared the life out of me! Sarcastic and dark, He had the sharpest eyebrows and a tongue to match.
David might just be the most talented individual I have ever met. Constantly inspiring and informative. I always learn from David even when I am only in his company for 10 minutes.
Terry Barber, Director of Artistry for MAC in the UK and Ireland.
I worked with Terry at MAC when he was a Senior artist, later he became Director of Artistry. He is hugely talented and refreshingly down to earth and funny. Although, he can bitch with the best of them!
Terry used to drag me off the shop floor to do my make-up under the guise that he had to practice a 'look'. I learnt so much from watching him. His effortless take on beauty had  a huge influence on my own style of work.

Viva Le Terry & David!
